The absolute most popular building block toys out there have to be LEGO building blocks. The LEGO Group has been churning out building block toys for many years and have a very good hold on the market. There are many themes that the LEGO Group utilizes for it’s building block sets. The most popular of these themes is the Star Wars theme.

Star Wars LEGO sets are exploding in popularity at this time. Many Star Wars fans around the globe have transitioned to LEGO fans simply because of the Star Wars themed LEGO sets. This is great for the LEGO community as a whole because the LEGO Group was experiencing some difficulties in the late 90’s. Since the LEGO Group decided to license the Star Wars theme however, this has changed dramitically. With the birth of the Star Wars theme of LEGO sets, many LEGO fans have become Star Wars fans and vice versa. This has spawned a completely new, merged market of Star Wars and LEGO, Star Wars LEGO! With the introduction of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, LucasFilms is very well setup to continue with that series and LEGO is in a prime position to capitalize on this along with LucasFilms.
